luissuraez798The Ancient Vows quest is one of those Act 2 moments where Path of Exile 2 shrugs and lets you figure it out yourself. You pick up a relic, the quest log says to find a use for it, and that's about all you get. No big marker. No friendly NPC spelling it out. While players are often busy sorting gear, trading, or checking things like Divine Orb buy options for later upgrades, this little quest can sit in the log longer than it should. The trick is simple once you know it: you don't need one relic, you need two.
Where the first relic drops
The Kabala Clan Relic comes from Keth. There isn't a special chest hidden behind a wall, and you don't need to kill a named boss for it. Just clear the area and focus on the serpent-like enemies as you move through. It's a random drop, so it might land fast, or it might make you run around for a bit. That's normal. If you've already passed through Keth and missed it, don't worry. Reset the zone, kill packs at a steady pace, and keep an eye on the ground labels. It's easy to overlook loot in PoE 2 when the screen gets busy.
Finding the second half
The Sun Clan Relic is found in The Bone Pits, and it works much the same way. You're not solving a puzzle here. You're farming enemies until the item drops. Some players get thrown off because the quest doesn't make it clear that the two relics come from different zones. So if you're standing in Keth for ages waiting for the Sun Clan piece, you're in the wrong place. Head to The Bone Pits, clear mobs, and give it a little time. It's not meant to be a long grind, but random drops can be moody.
Using the relics at the altar
Once both relics are in your inventory, go to the Valley of the Titans. The good news is that the altar is close to the waypoint, so you won't be wandering the whole map looking for a tiny interactable object. Look for the large stone medallion-style structure near the travel point. Click it, place both relics into the slots, and the quest will move forward. If the interface feels awkward, try turning on item labels or moving your character slightly around the altar. It can be a bit fussy, especially if you're dragging items from a packed inventory.
Choosing the reward without stressing
The reward gives you a choice between 30% increased Charm Charges gained and 15% increased Mana Recovery from Flasks. If your build burns mana quickly, the flask recovery option feels great while levelling. Casters and skill-spam setups tend to notice it right away. If your mana is fine but you depend on charms to deal with elemental hits or nasty status effects, take the charm charge bonus instead. You can return to the altar and swap the bonus later, so it's not a permanent mistake. Plenty of players use outside markets such as u4gm when they need game currency or items to smooth out a build, but for this quest, your best move is simply picking the reward that fixes your current problem.
